I fell in love with the figure when I was given the opportunity to study briefly under Frank Porcu at The Art Students League of New York about nine years ago. Since then, I've worked hard to develop my artistic understanding of the human form -- a process of discovery I enjoy more than anything else. Each drawing explores the complexities of the figure, including the common traits shared by everyone, and the unique ways they are embodied by the individual, through both their physique and their way of moving.

I taught Life Drawing for the 3D Animation Diploma at Humber College in Toronto until the birth of my son two years ago. After a long break from art, I am drawing and painting once again, on a part-time basis. My husband, Robert Rival, is a concert music composer.
